With the goal to demonstrate the possibilities of numerical calculations and to show the coupling of different methods, a comparison by Tintschl BioEnergie und Strömungstechnik of computational fluid dynamic results with the published results of Özden et al1 is presented. During the investigation of a tube bundle heat exchanger were very good matches with the heat transition and the pressure loss. Furthermore, the coupling of the flow mechanic with the structure mechanics gives additional valuable insights into the heat exchanger.
